Set in the late 50s and early 60s in small town Texas, I tell my love story of growing up in the age of innocence. I knew I was in love with the ponytail, but as an impetuous teenager, my priorities weren’t always in the right place. Only after losing her, did I realize that I had to change to win her heart again. Let me go back to those days, sharing my memories when I came of age.

Chasing the Ponytail eBook Rob Tenery

Having grown up in Waxahachie, Texas during the same time period as author Rob Tenery, I could relate to most every teenage hangout he mentioned, i.e, the Youth Center, swimming pool, and the hub of them all...the Dairy Mart. Yes, I knew Rob in high school but from a distance. He was a year ahead of me and his future wife, Janet, "the ponytail" a year behind me (and she was a beautiful blonde indeed !). Rob's father and grandfather being reputable doctors in the community meant that Rob was under a magnifying glass while trying to grow up. He was a "rich" boy to me, but I never heard anything disparaging about him.

It was a lovely experience for me to read that Rob suffered the usual angst of a teenage boy in love. His honesty in this memoir is refreshing and captures the relative innocence of the 50's. I laughed often at his youthful high jinks (I had no idea) and teared up as well at his insecurities as I read. There's a sweetness to this story with the happy ending. If you grew up in a small Texas town or ever wondered what it would have been like to do so, this is your book. Enjoy!

What a sweet story of pursuit! Must read <3
EXCELLENT READING
Author Rob Tenery does not disappoint in his latest novel, Chasing the Ponytail. He gives the reader an often wide-eyed glimpse of his determination, commitment and dedication. His sense of humor delivers throughout the pages—I blushed a few times! I have had the pleasure of getting to know Author Tenery and 'The Ponytail'—and in this 214 page winner, you will feel as though you have, also! GREAT JOB!
